Did you know that you could use Mushrooms and Lichen to make natural dyes the colors of the rainbow?
Participants of this workshop will learn mushroom and lichen identification basics, how to ethically harvest and what species may be local to you. Basic information on the dyeing process will be covered and demonstrated. Participants will even have the chance to dye their own unique silk scarf to bring home (provided by workshop).

Rachel Abramson is a Middle School science teacher in Marin with a side passion for arts and mushrooms. She began learning about mushrooms and how to find them growing up in Santa Cruz County and has dived into the art of dyeing fiber with them. She learned from the expert Alissa Allen and her company Mycopigments. Alissa teaches comprehensive workshops all around the US.
